There are so many more massage places in Bangkok. We couldn’t possibly have the time to try every one of them. We were only able to try out Health Land and D&D, read my reviews about them here.
The following are some popular ones for consideration, or not.
You can find many cheap massage options in Bangkok. However, you get what you pay for. By trying to save, I ended up wasting money over unsatisfying massages. Hence, I probably should spend a little bit more on my next trip and enjoy massages that are really relaxing.
Japanese expats in Bangkok. They offer a spa experience without you having to pay the prices that of a luxury spa. Enjoy body, foot, head and shoulder massages, scrub, and facial treatment and even steam sauna here. You can also customize your session.
Before the massage, you’ll fill up a short questionnaire/tick sheet to let the therapists know your massage preferences, highlighting your ailments, the massage areas to focus on and the desired amount of pressure.
For 60 mins sessions:
Daily: 9am – 2am (last reception at midnight)

Lavana Bangkok Spa is located in the heart of Bangkok’s business and shopping district, it’s a large building housing a full-service spa. Very clean, professional, and spacious.
Before the massage, you’ll fill up a short questionnaire/tick sheet to let the therapists know your massage preferences, highlighting your ailments, the massage areas to focus on and the desired amount of pressure.

There’s a morning special, you can call to ask if it’s still ongoing.

The place is clean and neat, though the receptionist is not overly friendly. This is one of the more well-known spas in Bangkok. The Asok outlet is very accessible, just located beside the BTS.

Siam Relax @ Siam Square: Another massage place at Siam Square: 392/24 Siam Square 5.
Let’s Relax: Popular massage chain. Their massages are more relaxing than strong pressured. Make an appointment first. They have outlets at various places in Bangkok, you can refer to their website.
Across Platinum Fashion Mall and Pratunam Market, there are a few massage shops on the same stretch, at Petchburi Soi 15. Number One Massage, Lavender, to name a few: Apparently, the masseuses at Lavender is better skilled than Number One.

You can find F&B outlets at different levels, e.g. McD (basement), Black Canyon Coffee, Red Mango, etc. The iced green tea latte from this bubble tea lookalike shop at Level 1 or 2 is worth a try.
You can have a quick lunch at their food court at level 6. But the reviews are not that fantastic. If you have some time to spare from shopping, do visit the Soi 19 Wanton Mee, which is a short walking distance from the mall. Scroll down to the next section for more info.
There are many ladies who want to stay near Platinum Fashion Mall to shop, even though the BTS is not near. If you are one such shopaholic who’s planning to spend the bulk of your time in Thailand at Platinum Fashion Mall, here are some popular hotels to stay around:

Our friend who stayed at Glow Pratunam, had their breakfast here at SabX2 Wanton Noodles everyday. Is it that good? We had to find out for ourselves.
When we went, it was crowded and we had to queue. Those queuing before and behind us were Singaporeans and Malaysians. Familiar accents surrounded us when we enter into the eatery. The waitress can even speak mandarin!
Regular / Special: You can order a Regular bowl at 60 Baht, or a Special bowl at 100 Baht. The only difference is that the Special comes with crab meat, and from the reviews, it is quite tasty, but that’s about it.
Dry / Soup: We ordered 2 dried wanton noodles, because we weren’t fans of the soup version in the first place. And boy, did we not regret it! The generous pork lard made the simple dish absolutely delicious! Too bad we didn’t have time to go back again.
But because the portion is small, we ordered another bowl of wanton soup. I would highly recommend you to order 2 bowls of wanton noodles + a wonton soup for 2 pax.
Another famous dish they have is the pig trotter dish. But it was sold out when we were there at 1+ pm. :( It’s actually quite expensive but from the reviews and early sell-out, I bet it’s worth it.
The tender trotters soaked in savoury briased sauce come with intestines, tau kwa, egg and preserved salted vegetables.
It’s about 5 to 8 minutes’ walk from Platinum Fashion Mall.
Cross the overhead bridge (shortcut at Platinum Mall’s Level 1), and walk towards the direction of Glow Pratunam Hotel/ Shibuya Shopping Mall. Just before the hotel/ Shibuya, turn right into a small lane (Soi Petchburi 19) and keep walking. It’s diagonally across the side of the hotel/ Shibuya.
For people staying in Singapore, apparently there’s a shop that sells a similar style of Wanton Noodles.
