Teeth Whitening Prices in JB (Johor Bahru, Malaysia)
I thought of whitening my teeth for over a year but didn’t dare to because I was afraid my teeth would turn out overly white and thus lose their natural look of slightly yellow. However, there’s an obvious stain on my front tooth, thanks to my Coca-Cola drinking addiction in recent months. Hence I decided to take the leap and whiten my teeth for the Chinese New Year.

My Teeth Whitening Experience
Before
It turned out that the stain in my front tooth could be removed by regular tooth scaling and polishing, and my teeth were also less yellow after that. So after the scaling and polishing, I had a tough time deciding if I should continue with my teeth whitening treatment. Dr Chiang from E&E Dental explained my queries patiently and waited patiently as I took some time to decide. She also didn’t pressure me to whiten, instead, she told me it’s okay if I like to cancel the whitening treatment.
She showed me a colour chart with different shades of teeth and told me at which point of the scale I was and how my teeth would be 2-3 shades whiter after 1 cycle. Only those with bad stains would require 3 whitening cycles to achieve desirable results. However, the results still depend on how well the teeth respond to the treatment.
The ‘After’ shade was acceptable to me and thus I went ahead with the whitening. Before that, I told her my concern about the teeth turning very white, which was at the end of the colour chart. She said those white is usually done at beauty clinics and it’s unlikely to reach that white with dentists.
During
They applied some gel to my teeth and put a thing in my mouth. I had to bite it lightly to prevent it from dropping out for about 15 minutes, during which a bright light was shone on my teeth. Hence I need to wear protective goggles for my eyes.
However, my jaw was too tense when biting and I gagged a few times on my saliva as my mouth remained slightly open the whole time, thus making me feel a bit uncomfortable with a nausea feeling. Hence, the 15 minutes felt long, especially when I was lying in the room alone with nothing to do or distract me. However, I’ve read online about people being so comfortable that they dozed off during this time. So I think it’s just me.
Do note that if your lips burn during or after treatment, let the clinic staff know immediately.
After
The whole treatment of whitening, scaling and polishing took about an hour.
The dental clinic took a before and after photo but it’s not an accurate comparison, because they took the ‘Before’ photo before the scaling and polishing. Thus, I think my teeth didn’t whiten much, probably by 0.5-1 shade, although the teeth felt more glowing after whitening. The whitening effects apparently will last up to six months.
Here’s the aftercare shared by E&E Dental:
For 24 hours after the BEYOND treatment:
- Do not eat or drink dark, staining substances including coffee, tea, red wine, soy sauce and cola.
- Do not smoke cigarettes or use any other tobacco products.
- Do not use coloured toothpaste.
To maintain your BEYOND smile over the long term:
- Brush your teeth and visit your dentist regularly.
- Minimize consumption of coffee, tea, other staining foods and drinks, and tobacco products.
So a TIP, whiten your teeth only on the last day of your trip to enjoy your drink and food freely in JB!

I asked for the teeth whitening prices from various dental clinics and shared them below to save you the hassle. Prices are subject to revision, so verify the prices before booking your appointment. The Google ratings stated below are as of 10 Jan 2025.
The clinics have different packages available. So if you have not done whitening before, it is better to consult the dentist for advice based on your teeth condition. And generally, you’ll need to do scaling and polishing before the whitening treatment.
Tip: Bring your passport along to register at the dental clinic, or a scanned copy, unless you are comfortable sharing your NRIC details in Singpass.
E&E Dental
E&E Dental Clinic JB is a popular dental clinic with Singaporeans, even an ex-dental hygienist we know brings her children to this clinic. Book your appointment in advance, especially during weekends and Singapore public holidays.

- Scaling and polishing: RM100-RM180, depending on teeth condition
- Scaling and polishing (child): RM60-RM80, depending on teeth condition
- Air polishing for heavy stains: About RM280

- ~1-hour dental visit, results last up to 6 months.

- ~1.5-hour dental visit, results may last up to 1 year with proper care and maintenance.

CK Dental Clinic is also known as Klinik Pergigian Chong & Khor (Skudai) and 张许牙科. They have 3 branches, so be sure to let them know which one in WhatsApp: Skudai(near TUAS checkpoint) / Mount Austin / Taman Abad Near KSL Mall (closer to Woodlands checkpoint).
I had wanted to try out this clinic near KSL Mall because it was near my other travel plans and the reviews for their female dentists, Dr Catherine Pang and Dr Khor, were good. However, E&E Dental prices are more competitive.
